A new online tool leads quickly and simply to the right GEA Delbag Filter
07. October 2013 With its new Web-based request tool for filter bids, GEA Heat Exchangers supports its customers in the selection and ordering of filter media. This new Web solution contains all GEA Delbag filters – both standard products as well as tailor-made filters produced especially for individual orders. With this filter selection tool, the customer can quickly and simply select the relevant products from more than 2,000 different product variants. For easy filter selection, slider functions are provided to enable the user to narrow down the dimensions to the required sizes.
The customer uses selection boxes to choose the filter grades and types required, as well as the filter and frame material. The system reacts in seconds to changes in search criteria and shows the filters that are adequate for the desired application. In addition to product applications and photos, the list of hits also shows the most important characteristics: for example, dimensions, filter grades, filter material, frame material, and nominal air flow. The customer has access to additional information on the individual products by clicking on “product details”. This new online solution greatly streamlines and speeds up the ordering process.
To request an offer, the customer merely moves the required filters to the shopping basket and enters his delivery and invoicing address in the following online steps. The only difference from classical online shopping: since transport costs will depend on the delivery address and on the amount of goods ordered, the Web shop does not directly display prices. As with an inquiry and order placed by phone, a GEA team will prepare the offer with price. Thanks to the availability of all data – owing to plausibility and completeness checks during entry of information – the GEA team can, however, react much faster: with the result that the ordering procedure can often be completed within one day. This online inquiry system for GEA Delbag filters is now initially available in German and English for customers in Belgium, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, and the Czech Republic. Implementation is scheduled for extending this support tool in more languages and to customers in additional countries.
Faster ordering and faster manufacturing – new production line for bag filters
GEA filter production has also been designed to enable faster processing of orders. Since autumn of this year, the commonly ordered bag filters are being manufactured in the GEA plant in Liberec (Czech Republic), on a new production line. In comparison to the old production line, the new line operates more exactly and can produce twice as many filter bags as before. The new line enables processing up to 20,000 m² of fleece per day, the equivalent of daily plant output of around 24,000 filter bags – or several thousand complete filters.
