Certification achieved for environmental and quality management at GEA Air Treatment
06. June 2014 GEA Air Treatment GmbH, of Herne (Germany), takes quality and environmental protection very seriously. The successful achievement of the related corporate goals is evidenced not only by the daily activities of its staff – but also by the certificates presented in April of this year by TÜV Rheinland Cert GmbH of the German Technical Inspection Agencies (TÜV).
Although GEA Air Treatment had already been regularly inspected in accordance with ISO 9001 since 1994, environmental management of company was now audited for the first time. The recently awarded ISO-14001 certificate now confirms that company processes for ecological activities and environmental protection are sufficiently defined and are capable of logical reconstruction. GEA Air Treatment has thereby satisfied an essential prerequisite for sustainably implementing environmental protection throughout the entire company.
Helmut Linker, Head of Quality Management and Officer for Environmental Protection at the GEA Business Unit Air Treatment: “For us as manufacturers of HVAC systems, protection of the climate and the environment has always enjoyed high priority. Award of this certificate, however, has now confirmed the achievement of formal status for our former ‘informal’ system of environmental management – which means that it is now even more effectively integrated into our everyday work.” Rene van Rijsewijk, CEO of GEA Air Treatment, emphasized the team spirit that considerably enhanced prompt and successful implementation of the certified environmental management system: “In definition of our environmentally relevant processes and their realization in our new environmental management system, all involved departments have collaborated with enthusiasm. As a result, the team completed the 60-hour questioning within the context of the TÜV audit with great poise and confidence.”
