Compact GEA COM4|plus| air handling units now with ECOPLATE plus for approx. 90 % heat recovery
12. March 2015 The GEA COM4<i>plus</i> universal air handling solution from GEA Heat Exchangers is now available with the new ECOPLATE<i>plus</i> heat recovery system. The highly efficient ECOPLATE<i>plus</i> module enables heat recovery up to 90 %, with the result that retrofitting or new installation in areas for flexible use by people is now more cost effective.
Four of the seven model sizes of the compact air handling units in the GEA COM4plus series are now available with the new ECOPLATEplus heat recovery system. These four models offer maximum air flow from 2,500 to 9,200 m³/h (at 2 m/s in the unit) and are certified in accordance with Eurovent. The infinitely variable air flow by direct-drive fans with EC technology, as well as the heat recovery function, are regulated by a comprehensive, intelligent control system.
Despite the great heat-recovery efficiency possible from the ECOPLATEplus module, it results in only slight pressure drops of a maximum of 180 Pa. An outdoor-air bypass provides anti-icing protection by means of heat exchanger circumvention when outdoor temperatures fall below approx. - 4 °C, it routes part of the outside air around the heat exchanger and directly into the supply-airflow.
The air handling units in the GEA COM4plus series offer complete, pre-configured equipment features. The inter-coordinated components are located, ready for connection, in a casing that has the same structural design as the modular GEA CAIRplus air handling units. Owing to its compact design and to the possibility of its being broken down into handy sections, the COM4plus can be installed even in small rooms. Mechanical fast-connection fittings additionally ensure simple and rapid installation. The weatherproof casing also allows installation outdoors.
The compact air handling units in the GEA COM4plus series are also available with cross-flow or rotary heat exchangers. Additional accessories are also available for these units: for example, optimally adapted heating or cooling Banks.
