Kort-Hinrich Heumann expands the sales and service network for precision climate-control products
26. July 2007 GEA successively strengthens the European presence of its precision climate-control systems
From his base in Herne, Heumann will support GEA national companies in setting up a sales and service network for precision climate-control systems – equipment that has been part of the GEA product portfolio since integration of the company Denco Building Services Limited. For some good time now, these systems have enjoyed a successful tradition on the market of the British islands. Kort-Hinrich Heumann is now responsible for strengthening the presence of these products on the European continent as well. Dr. Frank Vossloh, responsible for Eastern European Sales and Member of the Board of Directors of the GEA Air Treatment Division, said: “Working from Herne, we intend to build an international network to promote sales and support for precision climate-control systems. The assignment of Kort-Hinrich Heumann as the Director of the Sales and Competence Centre is the first step here. He will create the necessary structures, which additional members will further prepare for operational readiness.”
Planning is presently for intensification of activities initially in German-speaking countries and in the neighbouring countries, to be followed by incremental launching into additional markets.
This organization and start-up process is especially exciting for Heumann, who received his professional training as a power-systems electronics engineer, and who has since gained extensive experience as a manager. “I am most pleased to be able to introduce GEA precision climate-control technology to the rest of Europe. My goal will be to transform experience gained in earlier domestic and foreign projects into effective stimulus for growth – and, together with my colleagues, to gain additional customers for GEA.”
The target group for this technology will be primarily the operators of computer and telecommunications centres. Kort-Hinrich Heumann has become precisely acquainted with the requirements of such facilities: for more than 10 years of his professional life, he has faced challenges in IT and telecommunications projects – e.g., in work for the companies Nortel Networks and Nixdorf Computer AG. In his assignment as Sales Director with the company Stulz Klimatechnik GmbH, Heumann was able to supplement his knowledge of HVAC technology. Heumann is accordingly just as well acquainted with the perspective of the provider as well as that of the customer: which enables him to gain an all-around perspective. As he explains, “Often enough, our challenges involve more than just efficient climate control: after all, our HVAC technology in many applications must assure the availability of IT structures – since increasing numbers of critical corporate business processes are being run in computer centres.” As a result, a clear, comprehensive view of overall benefits and total cost of ownership (TCO) is just as important for operators of precision climate equipment as is competent and prompt service.
It’s not only in his professional life that Kort-Hinrich Heumann is pleased to experience a fresh breeze: he is also an avid sailor during his leisure time. And his professional knowledge of hot and cold air currents even helps the husband and father of two children to rise high in another endeavour: as a glider pilot.
