Shanghai based with travel within region as needed 30%+

The VP Human Resources APAC holds the Human Resources leadership position for the whole region reporting jointly in our global matrix to both the EVP APAC and to the EVP Group Human Resources globally (based in Germany) and will be responsible for all HR processes within the APAC region aligned with Group HR.

The Region has a revenue of 230 M€/year representing 20% of Kelvion global business and more than 1300 employees.  With operations in 5 APAC countries; including manufacturing locations in Wuhu (China) and Pune (India) and sales offices in Shanghai, Singapore, India and Malaysia as well as sales representatives across South- and North East Asia and with APAC being targeted as one of Kelvion’s key strategic growth areas we therefore need a strong HR leader to support the growth and develop our employees accordingly.

The mission for the position is be a true HR Business Partner and single point of contact for all HR topics for the Regional EVP and for the APAC Leadership Team and to establish, develop and drive best in class HR processes with a strong focus on talent development, recruiting and retention management, whilst maintaining a legally compliant framework for all our employees across a number of APAC countries.

You will play a critical role in Kelvion’s aim to being a true “employer of choice” within the region, and also be a key voice in the global HR team supporting the EVP Group Human Resources with driving this objective globally also. Coupled with a passion for developing and delivering an employer brand and DE&I strategy. 

 

RESPONSIBILITES

Business Partner through thought leadership; business understanding and strong relationship management as a single point of contact for Regional Leadership Team and for Global Leaders needing HR support within the region

Member of the APAC Leadership Team, representing all HR topics, supporting the regional growth and business strategy

Drive succession planning & talent development across the region as part of the global process

Drive our employer brand and desire to be recognized as an employer of choice in all locations

Support and coordinate implementation of global HR initiatives

Ensure consistent application of groupwide HR policies, directives, etc. as well as ensuring all countries adhere to relevant local employment law requirements

Lead on recruitment opportunities:

Engaging and aligning on all senior; confidential and key positions (e.g. member of local management team in production sites)

Driving the strategy to support all recruitment initiatives across our sites and locations

Ensure state of the art HR tools and services in the local organizations

Lead local HR team (6), managing developing and creating a high performance culture within the HR team.

Maintain high visibility with regular visits to all sites and locations (30%+ travel may be required in this role)

Maintain HR communication within the Region

About you to be successful in this highly business critical role:

HR Leader with a proven track record and a minimum of 10 years managerial experience in a medium sized, international/global organization, preferably in the production environment

Proven experience in managing teams both virtually and on site. With proven experience in a leadership position across multiple Asia-Pac countries (ideally including China; Malaysia)

Growth orientated: has a track record of supporting a growing organization as the HR representative within a leadership team

Purpose driven individual, target oriented and used to work under pressure with a good mix of hands-on personality with a strategic view

Proactive person to regularly seek alignment within the organization and look out for improvement opportunities; is able to work collaboratively: actively seeking out the input of others

Experienced in resolving employee related situations in multiple jurisdictions

Willing to frequently travel and to work in a truly international environment with individuals of different cultures and nationalities

Experienced with working and leading in a matrix organization; ideally having worked abroad; managed international teams

English business fluent

University or equivalent degree level of academic education

This position  based in Shanghai but travel through the region is required __30-50%_expected.
