POSITION SUMMARY

The Electrical Engineer position will be primarily responsible for designing electrical control panels that meet UL508a standards. This engineer will need to possess the technical and managerial skills to start a UL508a panel shop that operates efficiently and effectively. Additionally, the engineer will support maintenance and troubleshooting of machines used in manufacturing.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and build electrical control panels that comply with UL508a standards
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies
  • Assist with maintenance and updates of control software for Kelvion US HVAC/R controllers (Carel c.pCO)
  • Devise methods, procedures, and tooling to improve manufacturing capabilities
  • Develop and document procedures related to UL508a panel design, manufacture, installation, and use
  • Troubleshoot issues with manufacturing processes & machines
  • Work with production staff and other engineers to solve problems
  • Work with the design engineering department to improve drawings or report discrepancies with the enterprise resource planning system
  • Provide technical support to customers and other internal teams
  • Follow priorities and check with manager for other instructions
  • Follow process control plans while helping to develop and improve those plans
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering or relevant field from an accredited program
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical panel design and construction, with at least 2 years in UL508a
  • In-depth knowledge of UL508a standards and regulations
  • Experience with AutoCAD or other CAD software for electrical design and layout
  • Experience with PLC controlled systems

    • A critical thinker dedicated to solving root cause analysis problems and continuous improvement on the job
    • Knowledge of HVAC/R systems and controllers highly desired
