SUMMARY STATEMENT

Responsible for timely shop floor scheduling, capacity planning and procurement of parts and services to meet production demands.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works closely with Sales to quote perspective orders, as well as inform Sales of any delays in current orders.
  • Lead and perform material planning activities from raw materials to finished goods for specified work centers.
  • Initiates purchase orders to support order-specific demand, reorder points, safety stock and manually driven requirements.
  • Review sales orders and supporting documents for correctness, inspection, codes, special parts or procedures.
  • Formulate a delivery date based on material availability and capacity in the plant.
  • Change or add operations to routings as required to fulfill production needs.
  • Analyze raw material stocking levels to support standard leadtimes, based on usage and forecast
  • Initiates purchase orders to support order-specific demand, reorder points, safety stock and manually driven requirements.
  • Tracks purchase order deliveries to anticipate and/or prevent delays in receipt
  • Coordinates all quality matters and engineering changes between company departments and suppliers.
  • Coordinates pricing discrepancies between Info Record and PO acknowledgement with Purchasing department
  • Release and print production orders as well as assemble job jackets with all required documents.
  • Coordinates shop scheduling and inventory control parameters utilizing SAP.

AUTOMONY/ACCOUNTABILITY

This position coordinates shop floor scheduling, capacity planning, and parts availability to meet target product delivery requirements. Strong organization and communication skills are required to be effective.

 

LIASIONS

Outside : Vendors, Sales Agents, etc.

Inside:  Communication with shop floor employees, quality, production leaders, engineering, sales and finance.                                                                                                                                       

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  1. SAP Knowledge
  2. College Degree or 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing-related field
  3. Computer literate (Windows, MS Office, MS Outlook)
  4. APICS Certification preferred

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Good communication and people skills.  Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to comprehend quality work instructions, correspondence, and memos.  Ability to read in and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.  Ability to ask leading questions to stimulate self and others in developing alternatives.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic shop math.   Ability to accurately measure and to translate between decimal and fractional forms.  Ability to effectively use a calculator or computer to perform more involved calculations of multiplication, division, etc.  Ability to reason logically and develop both practical and creative solutions to problems.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Analytical Problem Solving and Decision Making.  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Able to identify unusual situations and take appropriate action.  Ability to identify unusual situations and use critical thinking and problem solving skills to resolve the situation.

Employee will be working in a manufacturing area which has moving mechanical equipment, hazards associated with welding, airborne mists and particles, chemicals and loud shop noises. Employee may work in outdoor weather conditions.
