GEA air handling units now with optimized casing
16. July 2013 GEA has visually as well as technically redesigned the casings of its air handling units. This applies not only to the GEA COM4 ready-to-connect compact units and the GEA CAIRplus range, with modular configuration – but also to GEA CAIRfricostar swimming-pool dehumidifier units.
The redesign process has not only involved overall stability, quality value, and optical impression but GEA developers have paid special attention to casing tightness and thermal improvements. The entire casing structure (consisting of a combination of aluminium profile sections and panels) has been redesigned, focusing primarily on enhanced thermal insulation.
Improvements included an increase in panel thickness from 50 to 60 mm. Thanks to this 20 % increase, GEA CAIRfricostar units now satisfy the specifications for thermal insulation class T2 even in their basic version. Owing to a newly developed concept for implementation of thermal isolation, threaded fittings for the panels are now installed directly into the 60 mm aluminum profile sections, resulting in improvement of the overall stability of the units. All profile-section connectors are now fitted with inserted seals to prevent cold bridges. As an option, all doors can also be fitted with exchangeable seals. The panels, now close flush with the tubular frame of the unit, enabling easier cleaning of these Eurovent-certified systems.
