GEA MATRIX – and that’s it for control of room air

At the trade fair SHK Essen 2010, for Sanitation, Heating, Air Conditioning, and Renewable Energies, GEA Happel Klimatechnik GmbH, of Herne, Germany, will present the latest in its developments for heating, cooling, and ventilation products. GEA fair highlights will include the new GEA MATRIX 400x control units for ventilation systems with outside-air connection – as well as the GEA MATRIX 4700 for compact and air handling units. Beginning with Version 2.70, they offer air-quality control as a standard feature. With the aid of an air-quality sensor (for example, a CO2 or mixed-gas sensor), it is possible to continuously control the air-flow rate in accordance with the quality of the room air. The result:  reduced energy consumption with great room comfort. In addition, the new control units can display the momentary CO2 value.

Other GEA products at the fair also stand entirely under the criterion of optimized use of resources:  for example, the GEA MAXX Ergo system for decentral shop-floor ventilation and heating. It combines GEA MultiMAXX mixed-air handling units and GEA RoofJETT roof extract fans with a liquid-coupled heat exchanger for heat recovery, which achieves a heat recuperation rate of up to 70 %.

Energy efficiency likewise plays a key role in cooling:  the air-cooled chillers in the GEA Freecooling GLFC range offer energy-efficient cooling throughout the entire year. According to model, they achieve rated cooling capacity of approx. 35 to 350 kW, and are highly efficient in regions in which low temperatures prevail throughout long periods of the year.

At SHK 2010 in Essen, GEA Happel Klimatechnik will show additional products from its portfolio, including the following:

  • GEA COM4plus – a compact air handling unit with high efficiency and including heat recovery
  • GEA SBQ andSBI base convectors – quiet and effective room units for buildings with large glass façades
  • GEA Flex Geko fan coil units – units with versatile and flexible applications
  • GEA Denco Close Control air conditioning – for constant temperature and relative humidity
