Modular transformer oil air coolers (TOAC) are highly appealing owing to their low weight and low costs
07. May 2014 TOAC compact standard air coolers from GEA Heat Exchangers are designed to cool the oil of transformers. Their heat dissipation output is from 100 to 600 kW. The standardized design of these modularized TOAC units enables cost-effective package solutions.
One to four modules can be combined to meet requirements. As a result of standardization, it is possible to manufacture TOAC units on a highly cost-effective basis. As a result, these transformer oil coolers are indeed appealing owing to their light weight, effective heat dissipation, and low costs. Materials used in the heat exchangers are effectively heat-conducting, which contributes to the great efficiency of TOAC coolers. Selection is possible of round tubes or fins made of aluminum, copper, and their alloys – which can be employed in various combinations. The customer also has a choice of fans from the TOAC range: both AC and EC fans. EC fans allow matching fan speed exactly to cooling requirements, which assures constant oil temperature.
