Reliable dust extraction in power plants and other industrial applications
08. April 2013 At the trade fair PowTech, GEA in Hall 6, Stand 6-229 will present a selection of GEA Delbag and GEA Deichmann dust-extraction systems for air purification, dust extraction, and material recovery, including the SJV Hose Jet Filter.
GEA Deichmann SJV Hose Jet Filters provide dust-extraction solutions for industrial applications as well as for the loading and unloading of bulk materials. In both cases, users profit from pulse-jet cleaning of the hose cartridge filters, which removes the dust. SJV Hose Jet Filters are highly effective for demanding requirements such as dust separation during unloading of coal railway cars. These filters remove the coal dust through hoods placed over the chutes and pass it on to filter units in versions designed for use in explosion-endangered areas.
Modular design for dust extraction in a range of industrial sectors
GEA Deichmann SJV Hose Jet Filters remove dust from air flow from 10,000 to 500,000 m³/h. The systems are effective for use in the non-metallic minerals industry, wood and plastic processing, blast-furnace operations, processing industries, and many other sectors. These filter systems can also separate gaseous pollutants that can be removed by absorption with additives, and can effectively extract solid particles. SJV Hose Jet Filters are cleaned in cycles by blasts of compressed air, which causes the collected dust to fall into a chute or trough. This filter-cleaning process assures great filter efficiency with low pressure drop, and it allows removal of dust for recycling or for disposal.
The SJV range includes chambers with modular design that allows to match the dust-extraction capacity to the requirements. The standard versions offer filter surfaces ranging from 10 to 2,000 m² in size. The material of the filter hoses, which have diameters of 120 or 150 mm, is matched to the composition of the dust to be collected. In addition to dust-particle size, the selection of the filter medium will also depend on the temperature of the dust and on its inflammability. The filter hoses are fastened and sealed by ring clamps to the hose mounts, and are installed and removed from the clean-air side.
Highly effective for special applications such as loading and unloading of coal
GEA Deichmann Hose Jet Filters are effective not only for applications in industry, but also for dust extraction during the loading and unloading of bulk goods – and even for explosive material such as coal dust. For unloading of coal railway cars, the dust is removed by suction through capture hoods at the chutes and sent to the filter through piping. A radial fan provides the required suction. For coal operations, SJV filter systems are designed to assure explosion damage in accordance with ATEX regulations. In the event that a dust explosion should nevertheless take place in the filter unit, the pressure is released through especially defined rupture disks, which minimizes the risk of danger. A regular blast of compressed air removes dust from the hose filters and drops the dust into a collection vessel. Since such loading stations usually do not provide compressed-air networks, the blasts of air for filter cleaning comes from a compressor that is part of the system. The compressor is located in a climate-controlled container next to the unit.
