Quality Director (m/f)
Reporting to VP Operations Wuhu you will be responsible for managing a team of professionals across the Quality functions currently totalling approx. 38.
Working location: Wuhu, Anhui, P.R.China
Main responsibilities:
Direct and coordinate the company’s quality program.
Development, maintain plant’s management and pressure vessel related certification, such as ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 50001, ASME U, GB D, PED H and marine certifications, etc.
Compile quality control reports, create statistical process control metrics, manage non-conformity material discrepancy reports, recommend continuous improvement activities.
Prepare monthly summaries of quality issues for presentation to the senior management team.
Interface of Quality department with Group Quality team as well as to participate Quality Meeting of Group.
Review and improve the existing Kelvion Heat Exchangers (China) Quality Records.
Implement quality training programs for key quality & manufacturing personnel and supply chain staffs.
Support in ensuring appropriate calibration of measuring equipment.
Work with Production Management to apply pertinent Six Sigma Green/Black Belt attributes and other quality procedures appropriate to the business objectives.
Work with SCM team to integrate quality standards as part of the Service Level Agreement for core suppliers and, where appropriate, assess supplier return products with failure analysis.
Lead relevant team and Suppliers for trouble shooting.
Issue and manage supplier Corrective Action Reports.
Support SCM Team with annual business reviews of key suppliers.
Work with Design on new component introduction, alternative raw materials, tooling requirements, test plans, and product qualification requirements.
Develop and implement Quality Plans for all parts to be integrated into CAD drawings.
Communicate and share the company quality philosophy to key personnel in the company.
Keep senior management abreast of significant developments identified during quality control activities.
Investigate and record customer complaints regarding product performance, specifications, and reliability.
Refine and develop the existing product warranty and return policy for finished goods.
To be successful in this highly business critical but ultimately rewarding opportunity you will:
Bachelor’s degree minimum required, preferably in mechanical engineering or a related field and more than 10 years work experience of Quality Assurance and Control management in machinery and equipment producing companies.
Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
Pressure vessel code knowledge and experience like ASME, PED, AD2000 and GB, with marine pressure vessel knowledge is a plus.
Family with welding, brazing, nondestructive examination, and coating is a plus.
Must have experience of running quality training programs.
Proven experience and ability to manage people, processes, and technology including welding, machining, painting, assembly.
Possess senior management leadership abilities and skills, such as the ability to build teams and manage operational, organizational and financial elements. Demonstrated experience coaching and developing individuals.
Strategic thinker and strong analytical skills.
Ability to influence and motivate others.
