Shell & Tube Single Heat Exchanger
Cost efficient Heat Exchanger Solutions
Different applications require different designs for an optimal fit, so we provide plain tube, low fin tube and plate fin solutions for your application. The plain tube design will excell when media have similar heat transfer capabilities, where the plate fin design will have the best possible performance if there is a substantial difference in heat transfer rate, for example when cooling oil with water. The low fin solution is the hybrid between the previous two designs in order to further optimize on flow, pressure drop and velocities of media.
Shell & Tube often use the standard design developed by the Tubular Exchanger Manufacturers Association (TEMA). We provide all designs for straight tube e.g BEW, BEM but also for U-bundle version like BEU.
Material selection depends on the applied media and applications. The most frequently used tube side materials are carbon steel, stainless steel, cupronickel alloys, brass alloys and titanium. Optionally, the tube side can be protected by anodes and/or a coating layer (such as phenolic coating or rubber linings). Shell side material is generally carbon steel, but a complete stainless steel heat exchanger is also possible.
Shell & Tube heat exchangers serve a wide variety of applications and can be used with higher operating temperatures and pressures. Another benefit is the low pressure drops and the possibility to engineer this to an optimal design for the application. The design can be very robust and therefore the preferred design for heavy duty applications. Lifetime and reliability are extremely high for this type of heat exchangers.
The applications are vast and in every industry from oil & gas to food and beverage, from power to the general industry. Versatility is the key word.
