Cooling demand
Data centres create a lot of heat and the growth in the sector has led to increasing demand for cooling technology. But then what to do with the waste heat?
One solution is to use the waste heat for heating elsewhere, as a data centre has done at its site in southern Finland. It decided to purchase heat exchange technology to recover the waste heat and feed it into the local district heating system.
High performance and efficient solution
A local wholesaler commissioned by the data centre opted for gasketed plate heat exchangers from Kelvion's NX and NP series. They have already proven themselves in data centre cooling and district heating applications.
These models offer efficient, reliable and sustainable operation. Jarkko Hautajarvi, Sales Engineer at Kelvion, said: “Having worked with the wholesaler previously, they knew that they could rely on the quality of our products and, more importantly, our suitability for both cooling and transferring heat to the district heating system.”
The result
Altogether we provided one NP model and seven NX models which are operating successfully.
