The Role
Perform in-process and final inspections of electro-mechanical assemblies. This typically includes various mechanical assemblies, piping, brackets and wiring, lighting, boxes, etc.
What you will be responsible for:
- Carries out inspection activities in accordance with established quality plans, engineering specifications and procedures in order to verify that the product meets specified requirements.
- Must be able to effectively use, read and interpret a tape measure.
- Performs incoming, in-process and final dimensional and visual inspection of materials and assemblies to determine compliance.
- Electronically records the results to provide evidence that the product has been inspected, whether accepted or rejected.
- The Inspector is required to handle any nonconforming product in accordance with established work instructions and other quality system procedures.
- Must be able to read and interpret Engineering drawings and Customer specifications.
- Must have weld inspection experience. AWS D1.1 experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Nondestructive Examinations and Powder Coating.
- Inspection will work closely with Manufacturing to ensure full compliance to Engineering requirements.
- Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, ability to work on–site, ability to work overtime.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department.
- Mag Particle Inspection, preferred.
COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write simple correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, etc. are preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED. Experience with calibration of inspection and test equipment preferred.
- Experience in an ISO 9001 environment preferred.
- Non-Destructive Testing Certification preferred.
- Ultrasonic Testing Inspector must have prior Level II experience. Preferably UT
- certified.
