This role is responsible for driving the Value Creation Program (VCP) across the region, ensuring strategic alignment, execution excellence, and transparent executive reporting for high-impact initiatives. This role oversees a portfolio of projects and initiatives executed by Project Managers and serves as a strategic vehicle to achieve a broad set of organizational objectives, including cost efficiency and growth.
In addition to VCP leadership responsibilities, this role may also serve as Program Manager for two to three high-visibility Capex projects. These projects are typically strategic or complex in nature and require strong leadership, cross-functional coordination, and direct engagement with senior stakeholders.
Reporting to the PMO Director, the Project Portfolio Leader partners closely with regional and functional leadership to challenge strategic direction, ensure disciplined execution, and deliver measurable financial and operational results. The ideal candidate is an experienced PMO professional (3–5 years) with strong business acumen, capable of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously, influencing stakeholders across a matrixed organization, and driving results through structured execution. Exposure to M&A or transaction-related initiatives is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio, Program & Value Creation Leadership
- Lead and manage the Value Creation Program across the region, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and regional priorities.
- Oversee a portfolio of Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering initiatives, with a total portfolio value exceeding $10M.
- Act as the strategic integrator for regional initiatives, ensuring priorities, sequencing, and resource allocation support organizational objectives.
- Conduct regular performance reviews with initiative owners, challenging assumptions, timelines, and expected value delivery.
- Partner with regional functional leaders to refine strategic direction and ensure initiatives are impactful and executable.
Direct Program Management Leadership (as required)
- Serve as Program Manager for two to three high-visibility, high-impact Capex projects in addition to portfolio responsibilities.
- Own end-to-end execution of assigned projects, including scope definition, planning, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and value delivery.
- Provide executive-level updates and ensure alignment with strategic objectives and expected outcomes.
Execution Excellence & Reporting
- Drive disciplined execution through standardized project and program management methodologies.
- Ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and with clear accountability for outcomes.
- Own executive-level reporting, including Power BI dashboards and portfolio reviews covering schedules, financials, risks, and benefits realization.
- Provide regular, concise updates to senior leadership on progress, risks, mitigation actions, and value delivery.
Capability Building & Change Leadership
- Coach initiative owners on business case development, value tracking, budgeting, and milestone management in line with company standards.
- Promote a culture of accountability, urgency, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to organizational capability building, including participation in M&A-related projects where applicable.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a central point of coordination between regions, functions, and executive leadership.
- Ensure clear, consistent, and transparent communication across all stakeholders.
- Build strong working relationships with senior leaders to influence decision-making and ensure alignment with business priorities.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience within a PMO, including portfolio and/or program management responsibilities.
- 3+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong business acumen with an understanding of financial, operational, and strategic drivers.
- Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent).
- Experience with executive reporting and analytics tools, including Power BI.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Willingness to travel domestically as required.
Preferred
- Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to M&A, integration, or transaction-related initiatives.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
