Global Commodity Manager

Your responsibilities:

• Assure the deployment and execution of the objectives and directives assigned to the Supply Chain Function by the Group EVP Supply Chain.
• Understand the Market evolution: threats, opportunities and technological trends.
• Assure the necessary input and support to the local and BU Supply Chain organizations in the operational requirements of the affected plants (budget preparation, ERP maintenance, plant objectives, reporting, projects, supplier issues, etc.).
• Participate actively in the Procurement activities of the Group, preparation of the Kelvion BU and Global Strategic Plan and annual budgets.
• Assure that the necessary commodity sourcing activities and processes required by the different projects in development are launched and completed on time.
• Lead the selection and nomination of new suppliers until final approval according to the established decision levels. Create or update supplier contracts accordingly.
• Foster and lead the initiatives related to the improvement of the cost and efficiency of the Materials, Components, Investments and Services used in order to meet the company’s yearly and long term objectives.
• Assure that the correct level and content of technical and financial information is available throughout all sales bidding and purchasing sourcing processes.
• Approve the supply base strategy for each assigned Global Commodity, establishing and approving the necessary strategic Procurement agreements or partnership collaborations with suppliers.
• Foster the innovation initiatives of products and processes with the supply base in collaboration with the Engineering and Innovation community in Kelvion.
• Ensure the alignment of the supply base development with the company’s goals and strategic actions.
• Implement and execute the Procedures, Operative Instructions and Reporting Systems, so that the assigned functions can be correctly executed, results and information correctly consolidated, decisions adequately taken and intercompany communication facilitated.
• Represent Kelvion BU or Group as needed on matters related to Supply Chain.

Our requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or a related field
• Proven experience of 5+ years in global commodity management for an international organization, preferably in the mechanical engineering industry
• Previous experiences with commodities such as castings, machined parts or raw materials are very advantageous
• Strong leader with the ability to build partnerships in order to work together successfully within a matrix organization
• Good analytical skills for processing and interpreting data in order to propose strategic procurement decisions and recommendations
• Strong negotiation competencies in order to secure improved procurement conditions while maintaining positive relationships with suppliers
• Good multitasking abilities for prioritizing tasks efficiently and performing well in a fast-paced environment
• Fluent English proficiency for effective business communication
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
