Kelvion secures >€6m order for a major energy operator’s revamp project in the Middle East

Kelvion has secured a significant revamp contract valued at more than €6m to supply twenty Diesta-Groovy Air Fin Coolers for a leading national energy company in the Middle East.
Kelvion has secured a significant revamp contract valued at more than €6m to supply twenty Diesta-Groovy Air Fin Coolers for a leading national energy company in the Middle East.

The project replaces Kelvion units originally installed in 1988, which have delivered more than three decades of reliable service in demanding operating conditions.

The customer, a major state-owned energy group in the Gulf region, is one of the world’s leading diversified energy players. Operating across the entire energy value chain, the company has a long‑standing partnership with Kelvion. The proven durability of the original coolers positioned Kelvion as the natural choice for this strategic upgrade.

Enhancing performance while maintaining the existing plant footprint

During a recent internal process review, the operator evaluated the performance of its existing coolers equipped with conventional fin technology that had been in service since 1988 and identified opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.

Kelvion’s service team conducted a detailed Energy Audit to identify performance limitations, reduce energy consumption and extend equipment lifetime. Based on their findings, the team concluded that the ageing coolers had reached the end of their serviceable life and that a complete replacement would be required to achieve the customer’s performance, reliability and energy‑efficiency targets.

To meet the customer’s requirement to retain the existing steel structure, Kelvion designed a solution that fits the original footprint and load constraints while significantly improving performance. The selected Groovy fin technology allows for a more compact unit with enhanced thermal efficiency and improved operation under the region’s high ambient temperatures.

Delivering reliability for the next generation

The customer has provided comprehensive process data throughout the project, ensuring full transparency and optimum system design. Production and delivery will take place in two phases, with shipments scheduled for early December and late December 2026.

A partnership built on decades of trust

Kelvion’s decades-long relationship with this key energy operator played a key role in securing this project. The exceptional performance of the original coolers, in service since 1988, highlights Kelvion’s commitment to durability, reliability and engineering excellence.

“Our equipment has proven itself over four decades of continuous operation,” said the Kelvion project team. “That track record, combined with our ability to engineer high‑performance solutions within strict structural constraints, gave us a decisive advantage.”

This milestone project reflects Kelvion’s capability to support major operators with complex retrofit and revamp requirements, extending asset life while delivering tangible performance improvements.
