ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Perform air-cooled heat exchanger structural design to American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE), the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC), American Petroleum Institute (API 661) and customer specifications.
  • Serve as structural Professional Engineer (PE) of record, reviewing and stamping project drawings and calculations.
  • Develop, adopt and maintain corporate and site-specific structural engineering standards.
  • Prepare design calculations and customer drawings for the above scope of work. This includes Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other structural static and dynamic load analysis.
  • Check structural designs and drawings of other Mechanical Design Engineers.
  • Communicate with sales, customer, shop and detail drafters.
  • Provide support for troubleshooting and investigating existing structures in manufacturing equipment and facilities.
  • Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, ability to work on–site, ability to work overtime.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Structural/Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university; Professional Engineering (PE) license and certification to approve structural design, PE certification or the ability to get PE certified in the Canadian provinces, a minimum of five (5) years structural design and finite element analysis experience.
  • Willing to obtain license in other US states and Canadian Provinces as required.
  • General knowledge of welded steel fabrication practices.
  • Good drafting skills.
  • Computer skills must include STAAD-Pro, AutoCAD, Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Working knowledge of the American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), and the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction.


LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in English. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.


REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Kelvion Inc., designs and manufactures Brazed and Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers, Condensers and Dry Coolers, and Air Cooled Heat Exchangers for refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants, power utilities, and other related industries. The manufacturing plant is located at the Port of Catoosa near Tulsa, Oklahoma.
