High performance computing leader
Penguin is a leading South American provider of high-performance computing services and cloud solutions to the public and private sectors.
The data centre in Paraguay is just 10km away from the world’s third largest hydro power plant and is 100% powered by renewable energy. It has a capacity of 100MW and is connected to a substation fitted with state-of-the-art equipment.
Energy reduction through lower OPEX costs is a key priority for Penguin and so sustainability is a top requirement when choosing a supplier of cooling units to be used for heat rejection on the building’s roof.
Sustainable solution and unrivalled expertise
Kelvion’s high level of expertise and many years of experience in the data centre industry convinced Penguin to choose our dry coolers. Compared to competitors, our solution was considered to offer the best performance/cooling capacity and lowest energy consumption.
The customer was also impressed by our ability to meet their stringent delivery requirements of only 10 weeks.
“We chose Kelvion because they offered a sustainable solution with competitive energy consumption,” said Bruno Vaccotti, Chief Public Affairs at Penguin Group. “With 12 units featuring customised controls, the heat exchangers ensure ultimate cooling and enhance the overall efficiency of our facility.”
The result
The dry cooler units are strategically placed on the roof and are successfully maximising efficiency without interfering with the IT operations.
