Meeting customer requirements
We supplied a bespoke CCC designed to cool generator air using water to ensure optimum performance and reliability. It features patented turbulated fins that maximise cooling efficiency and outperform competitors. With a longer life cycle compared to alternatives, the cooler offers sustained performance and cost effectiveness.
The CCC has a total airflow of 3.65 m3/s and is designed to withstand 10 bar pressure, tested to 15 bar. It is constructed from carbon steel, including headers, tube sheets, side walls and tube supports, to ensure durability and longevity.
Our customer initially ordered four CCC units, which were successfully installed and tested. Satisfied with the results and the reliability of the coolers, they subsequently ordered three more units.
Quality assurance and timely delivery
The order continued a decade-long partnership between the hydropower supplier and Kelvion. Delivery and testing logistics were seamlessly managed by both companies. Kelvion carried out thorough hydrostatic, dimensional, and visual tests before our customer collected the coolers.
Result
The coolers are operating successfully, providing reliable thermal management and contributing to the hydropower supplier’s operational efficiency and environmental sustainability goals.
