POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for properly receiving incoming material, staging and timely shipping outgoing orders while adhering to safety procedures. Must be able to perform timely and accurate transactions within the facilities ERP manufacturing system and Logistics database. The position works closely with the Material Control team, Material Handling co-workers, Customer Service team and the Warehouse Ops Manager to coordinate efficient flow of materials into and out of the facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES – Receiving
- Perform routine day-to-day duties to receive products from suppliers and transportation providers, including coordinating unloading of shipments, dock prioritization, and driver communication.
- Effectively communicate with Receiving Supervisor and Receiving Lead co-workers to process expected deliveries as material arrives at the plant from suppliers, customers, and other business partners.
- Receive shipments, inspect contents and packaging for damage, verify content according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.), and sign paperwork upon receipt.
- Unload packages from incoming trucks as needed if material handling coworker availability is constrained.
- Perform material receiving transactions by entering data into the ERP manufacturing software in a timely, accurate manner and as instructed.
- Communicate to the Receiving Manager and Receiving lead if a mistake is identified and take responsibility to reject or return shipments to the carrier if damage is observed.
- Label all deliveries and communicate completion of receiving process to material handling co-workers, so goods can be transported to their designated storage location.
- Maintain accurate records and assist inventory control co-workers as needed with physical inventory and or cycle counts.
- Perform work requiring lifting, pushing, and pulling of materials. Some of these may be repetitive tasks and weigh up to 50 pounds.
- Always exhibit good interpersonal skills and a pleasant demeanor.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES – Shipping
- Perform routine day-to-day duties to ship products to customers, other Kelvion facilities, and effectively communication with transportation providers.
- Efficiently handle shipping responsibilities: boxing or palletizing, wrapping & banding, verification of quantities vs. documentation, making labels, loading trucks, etc.
- Works closely with Logistics Specialists and Customer Service co-workers to efficiently process shipping transactions as directed, including coordinating document review and carrier signoff.
- Perform various input transactions for shipments by entering data into the ERP manufacturing software in a timely, accurate manner and as instructed.
- Maintain accurate records, communicate daily shipment log details to supervisor, and assist inventory control co-workers as needed with physical inventory and or cycle counts.

RESPONSIBILITIES – Safety
- Safely and efficiently perform tasks in warehouse and production environment.
- Report any property damage, safety incidents (including near misses) or material damages immediately to Receiving Manager / Receiving Lead.
- Safely and efficiently operate powered industrial lift trucks / equipment (PIT), and dock safety equipment inclusive of performing daily PM checklists and maintenance required on assigned equipment. Identify and report maintenance issues as they arise to warehouse supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)
- Language Skills: Fluent in English to read and comprehend written guidelines and instructions and perform basic verbal and written communication. Fluent in Spanish a plus.
- Computer skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams and ability to learn various functions assigned within the ERP (SAP or other) manufacturing system.
- Communications Skills: Ability to receive, listen, and understand in-coming messages (Teams and Telecom), verbal, and written communication from Customer Service, Supply Chain, Production, and Quality co-workers, outside transportation firms and supplier documentation.
- Reasoning: Ability to apply general rules to determine resolutions of requests and be able to process numbers as needed to put away and pull material per transaction requirements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- High school diploma or GED required, with Associates degree preferred.
- 2-3 years prior experience in logistics, inventory control, material handling, and/or shipping & receiving in a manufacturing / factory environment preferred.
- Must be able to operate forklifts safely and efficiently in narrow aisle/locations safely and productively.
- Basic math and reading skills.
