Efficiency and precision
The NEA|HYTRON system requires precise and efficient heat dissipation to maintain optimum electrolyser performance. Our extensive portfolio and global manufacturing footprint made us the perfect partner to support NEUMAN & ESSER's hydrogen ambitions. Under a framework agreement, we supply both GPHEs and dry coolers for the electrolyser system.
The GPHE acts as a stack cooler and removes most of the waste heat from the electrolysis process, ensuring stable and efficient operation, while the dry cooler provides an effective cooling solution for the entire system by dissipating the extracted heat into the ambient air.
Our solution is primarily based on standard components, with minor adaptations such as additional reduction pieces for the GPHE to ensure a perfect fit within NEUMAN & ESSER's plant layout. This balance of standardisation and customisation allows for scalability without compromising efficiency.
By offering both heat exchangers as a combined package, Kelvion provides NEUMAN & ESSER with a streamlined, centralised approach to thermal management.
Driving the green hydrogen transition
The NEA|HYTRON system produces 1,000 Nm³ of hydrogen per hour, contributing to the decarbonisation of industrial processes and energy applications. NEUMAN & ESSER has more than a century of experience in hydrogen compression technology, further strengthening its relationship with Kelvion as a trusted thermal management partner.
“Kelvion’s global presence, extensive heat exchanger portfolio, and ability to deliver integrated solutions make them the ideal partner to scale our electrolyser business.” – Dr. Max Ellerich, Solution Manager H2 Production NEUMAN & ESSER
The result
With a strong partnership and a shared vision for sustainable hydrogen production, Kelvion and NEUMAN & ESSER continue to drive innovation in the energy transition. The 5MW system is just the beginning, with more projects and other system sizes planned for the future.
