Your responsibilities:

  • Develop his/her team to a high performing organization by planning and developing the necessary personnel in agreement when applicable with other company key stakeholders, ensuring the correct application of tools and policies on training, career path and evaluations.
  • Assure the deployment and execution of the objectives and directives assigned to the Supply Chain Function.
  • Understand the Market evolution: threats, opportunities and technological trends. Inform other affected areas in the company.
  • Assure the necessary input and support to the local and Regional organizations in the operational requirements of the affected plants (budget preparation, ERP maintenance, plant objectives, reporting, projects, supplier issues, etc.).
  • Participate actively as required in the Supply Chain activities of the Group, preparation of the Kelvion regional and Global Strategic Plan and annual budgets.
  • Assure that the necessary commodity sourcing activities and processes required by the different projects in development are launched and completed on time.
  • Lead the selection and nomination of new suppliers until final approval according to the established decision levels.
  • Lead the sourcing activities related to new contracts or modifications of existing ones according to the established decision levels.
  • Foster and lead the initiatives related to the improvement of the cost and efficiency of the Materials, Components, Investments and Services used in order to meet the company’s yearly and long term objectives
  • Assure that the correct level and content of technical and financial information is available throughout all sales bidding and purchasing sourcing processes.
  • Approve the supply base strategy for each assigned Global Commodity, establishing and approving the necessary strategic business agreements or partnership collaborations with suppliers.
  • Foster the innovation initiatives of products and processes with the supply base in collaboration with the Engineering and Innovation community in Kelvion.
  • Ensure the alignment of the supply base development with the company’s goals and strategic actions.
  • Implement and execute the Procedures, Operative Instructions and Reporting Systems, so that the assigned functions can be correctly executed, results and information correctly consolidated, decisions adequately taken and intercompany communication facilitated.
  • Represent Kelvion as needed on Supply Chain matters.

Our requirements:

  • Well experienced Commodity Manager focused on Indirect spend with a proven track record and min. 10 years managerial experience in a medium sized, international/global organization, preferably in mechanical engineering environment
  • University or equivalent degree level of academic education related to the job scope (engineering, economics, business management …).
  • Proven experience in self-managing a team of people with a given set of objectives.
  • Purpose driven individual, target oriented and used to work under pressure.
  • Proactive person to permanently look out for improvement opportunities through product and/or supplier changes.
  • Good negotiation skills to obtain better procurement conditions while good and professional relationships with suppliers are kept.
  • Flexibility as to resolve external and internal conflict situations.
  • Availability to extensive travelling and willing to work in a true international environment with individuals of different cultures and nationalities.
  • Good mix of hands on personality with a strategic view and strong leadership skills
  • Able to work and lead in a matrix organization – team player
  • Fluent English
  • Willingness to travel globally
