Closed circuit cooler tubes can get clogged due to accumulation of deposits in the tubes. This can cause heat spots, cracks and leakages or damage to the fins and coatings. With proper and regular servicing Kelvion can help to avoid the generator stator or electrical drive to overheat which can lead to catastrophic failures. The Kelvion Service includes cleaning and testing, recoiling, recoating of water headers, repairs and reverse engineering to keep your application running smoothly, for prolonged periods of time.

Retubing of Closed Circuit Coolers

Closed circuit coolers often come into contact with substances, such as oil, salts and condensates, which can corrode or erode the fins, coatings and tubes. Pollutants can also enter open water cooling circuits, leading to an accumulation of deposits that can block the tubes and cause leaks from the joints and seals. Kelvion will recoil the coolers with new inserts, using the latest modifications, to allow optimum efficiency and reliability. Upgrades with copper-nickel alloys, stainless steel or titanium tubes and new thermal calculations are available. All repairs and modifications are subject to thorough testing.
