Summary: Assists Shiraz Production Manager in the overseeing of production and non-production Department affairs in the Powder area by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Identifies and assists in coordinating and accomplishing day to day operation of flow in the shop.
- Work directly with the Department Manager to ensure production and quality needs are achieved.
- Manage and control manpower including attendance in the responsible area to secure line capacity and to meet delivery schedule.
- Able to document data and write clear reports (production, rework, quality, line stop etc.)
- Monitor quality in accordance with the company ISO Quality Plan.
- Estimates, requisitions, and inspects material quality.
- Examines items produced to determine if items meet specifications.
- Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to employees and assigns duties.
- Establish or adjust work procedures (QWI – Quality Work Instruction) to standardize good work practices and to ensure quality of work.
- Conduct safety bi-weekly meeting (Toolbox) to build safety awareness in the work place with zero injury target.
- Reinforce safety policy and rules including identify potential hazards in the work area and reduce or eliminate them.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product to Production Manager.
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the department, or work crew.
- Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.
- Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, ability to work on–site, ability to work overtime.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department.
- Must be able to provide sufficient supervision while spending 20-50% directly working on production pieces.
- Routine trouble shooting and problem solving, including finding ways of improvement for long-term solution.
- Encourage continuous idea generation from team members for continuous process improvement in cost, time, and safety.
- Ensure 5S (workplace organization method in the area with good housekeeping manner) is being applied on a daily basis.
- Ensure all equipment is up to date and within the standards needed.
- Follow updated schedules to meet ship dates provided by management.
- Strong attention to detail, organization skill, and communication skill.
- Prioritize tasks in a self-directed and time-managed manner.
Ensure all supplies are inventoried daily and submitted for order in a timely manner.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has supervisory responsibilities.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Kelvion policies, procedures and applicable laws.
- Must demonstrate and exhibit professional qualities when speaking with employees, whether in a one-on-one scenario or a group setting.
- Responsibilities, as assigned by the Department Manager, will include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

COMPUTER SKILLS
- Good understanding of Microsoft Excel, data formats, and the tools available to share data across software programs
- Understanding of office network environments, e-mail, and internet
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum 3 years of painting experience in a manufacturing environment required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to comprehend instructions, correspondence, and speak fluent English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
