New online platform delivers tailored thermal guidance, helping industries cut emissions and accelerate the transition to net zero
Kelvion launches K°Focus CCS to drive efficient carbon capture
Kelvion has launched K°Focus Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) – an online platform designed to guide operators in selecting the right thermal solutions for efficient and sustainable carbon capture processes.
Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is a key technology for reducing carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions – one of the primary greenhouse gases driving global warming. As nations worldwide set ambitious net-zero targets, CCS is emerging as an essential enabler of a sustainable energy transition. With decades of expertise and advanced thermal solutions, Kelvion helps industries reduce their environmental footprint and accelerate progress toward decarbonisation.
Tailored Guidance, Anytime and Anywhere
Efficient heat transfer is essential in every phase of carbon capture, making the choice of heat exchanger technology critical for maximising energy savings while maintaining peak performance. The K°Focus CCS platform provides tailored, easy-to-access guidance through an online platform that demonstrates how Kelvion solutions can improve efficiency while reducing costs. Since CCS involves a variety of applications and methods, the platform is divided into three episodes, each providing enough space to provide details about the different approaches in depth.
Episode 1 – Absorption Technologies:
CO₂ absorption is one of the most established separation methods in industrial applications. Episode 1 shows how Kelvion’s thermal solutions can help to minimize the CO₂ footprint while lowering CAPEX and OPEX in the CCS absorption process.
Episode 2 – Desublimation Technologies:
Desublimation is the phase change where a substance transitions directly from gas to solid without an intermediate liquid state. With extensive experience in desublimator technology, Kelvion has advanced this process to successfully separate CO₂ without using additional media or chemicals. This topic is shown in the second episode.
Episode 3 – Direct Air Capture (DAC):
This episode focuses on capturing CO₂ directly from ambient air. Since CO₂ concentrations in the atmosphere are relatively low, large air volumes must be processed efficiently. Kelvion applies its expertise in cooling tower design principles to deliver capture tower solutions for this innovative approach to carbon removal.
The K°Focus CCS platform is available online now, providing expert insights, real-world examples, and direct access to Kelvion’s broad portfolio of thermal solutions.
