Designed for maximum flexibility, Multi-Gas air coolers allow operators to use systems with today's most commonly used A1 refrigerants, while being fully prepared for the transition to flammable A2L or A3 refrigerants in the future, all without the need to modify or replace the cooler in most cases.

This flexibility reduces long-term investment costs and improves stock availability and delivery times for systems for all types of refrigerants.

A2L refrigerants are slightly flammable and have a lower global warming potential (GWP) compared to traditional A1 refrigerants. As the HVAC and refrigeration industries move toward more sustainable solutions, A2Ls and especially PFAS-free A3s are becoming the preferred choice for many applications, as they balance environmental performance with safety.

As part of our ongoing innovation, we are updating our range of air coolers to ensure safe operation with A2L and A3 refrigerants. To make it easier to identify products, all A2L/A3-compatible models will now have the suffix “FX32” in their nomenclature (e.g., KCB-201-6BE-FX32-2), replacing the old “HX32” label.

In addition, our new multi-gas labels on the packaging provide a quick and clear visual indication of the refrigerants supported by each product.
