Our Kelvion Multi-Gas series offers a versatile range of air coolers designed for safe and efficient operation with refrigerants from classes A1, A2L, and A3. With a specially adapted defrosting concept that reduces heating capacity and grounded casings, the Multi-Gas series complies with EN 378 and EN IEC 60335-2-89 (11.2023). This ensures a low-hazard solution for cold room applications across a wide temperature range, including deep-freeze environments.

FUTURE-READY COOLING TECHNOLOGY

Designed for maximum flexibility, Multi-Gas air coolers allow operators to run systems with today’s widely used A1 refrigerants, while being fully prepared to transition to flammable A2L or A3 refrigerants in the future – all without modifying or replacing the cooler

This flexibility reduces long-term investment costs and improves stock availability and delivery times for systems across all refrigerant types.

WHY A2L REFRIGERANTS MATTER

A2L refrigerants are mildly flammable and have a lower global warming potential (GWP) compared to traditional A1 refrigerants. As the HVAC and refrigeration industries move toward more sustainable solutions, A2Ls are becoming the preferred choice for many applications, balancing environmental performance with safety.

To safely handle flammable refrigerants like A2L and A3, components must meet stricter standards. The Kelvion Multi-Gas series is specifically engineered to meet these requirements, giving our customers a future-proof solution that aligns with tightening environmental regulations and refrigerant phase-down schedules. 

STREAMLINED PRODUCT IDENTIFICATION

As part of our ongoing innovation, we are updating our air cooler portfolio to support safe operation with A2L and A3 refrigerants. To make product identification easier, all A2L/A3-capable models will now be marked with the “FX32” suffix in the nomenclature (e.g., KCB-201-6BE-FX32-2), replacing the former “HX32” label.

Additionally, our new multi-gas labels on the packing provide a fast and clear visual cue indicating which refrigerants each product supports.
